- Work has started on the new Moranbah Hospital

The new Moranbah Hospital is being fast-tracked with construction now underway.
The new hospital, which is funded by the Palaszczuk Government’s progressive coal royalty tiers, was originally meant to be completed by early 2025 but will now be finished in the last quarter of 2024.
The state-of-the-art facility will replace the existing hospital and provide the Isaac community with increased emergency department spaces, a CT scanner in an expanded imaging department, and a helipad.
Allied health, child health, antenatal and postnatal care services, as well as mental health support, will all be available under the one roof.
Additional features will include an ambulatory care area, a rehabilitation gym for patients recovering from injury and illness, and an enhanced outpatient department.
Two deeply valued elements of the existing hospital will be retained.
The prize-winning rose garden will be relocated and a new family room will continue providing a comforting space for patients and their loved ones.
The project will support more than 100 construction jobs.
