New multi-million dollar transformation at Errington Reserve St Albans

Brimbank Council is proud to deliver the newly completed $4.76 million Community Sports Pavilion, along with four new tennis courts, one of which is set up for multi-sport use at Errington Reserve, St Albans.

Brimbank Mayor, Cr Georgina Papafotiou said the new pavilion is part of the ongoing transformation of Errington Reserve, guided by the Errington Reserve Precinct Master Plan.

‘The much-needed improvements will benefit the whole community, especially the football, cricket and tennis playing community.

‘The new facilities will go a long way in creating a safe, family friendly space to support the growing levels of sport participation in our community.

‘What’s more is the new sporting facilities now support female sport participation – a boost for girls and women playing sport in Brimbank.

‘This will bring real improvements to our community’s health and wellbeing by continuing to deliver significant social and health outcomes.

‘This is another wonderful project completed for the community, and will help support our community’s COVID-19 recovery efforts’, Cr Papafotiou said.

The project includes a brand new Community Sports Pavilion for the St Albans Football Club, St Albans Cricket Club and St Albans East Tennis Club Sports Club to call home. It includes a social room, kitchen, new football/cricket and tennis change rooms, umpire rooms, first aid room and storage. The four tennis courts, one of which is line marked for multi-sport use are located closer to the new pavilion.

The total project cost is $7,149,274. The Council contribution is $6,899,274 and State Government contributed $250,000 funding for the multi-sport courts.

The courts were completed in March 2020 and the pavilion in June 2020.

Future works planned for Errington Reserve include a sportsground reconstruction/realignment, and expansion of the park and playground.
