New National Capital Authority board member

Professor Helen Lochhead has been appointed to the board of the National Capital Authority (NCA) for a period of five years, following an open merit selection process which incorporated ACT Government input.

Professor Lochhead brings extensive experience, including from her current board memberships with the Australian Heritage Council, Chair of the Climate Action and Sustainability Committee of the Australian Institute of Architects, and non-executive directorship of the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat Australia.

She has also held the role of Commissioner of the NSW Independent Planning Commission and is an Emeritus Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of New South Wales.

The role of NCA Board Member is part-time, with the Board meeting six times a year in Canberra to develop effective business strategies, as well as foster productive relationships with NCA stakeholders and partners.

The board includes the Chair, Chief Executive and three members, all appointed by the Governor-General on advice from the Australian Government.
