New online portal for Cultural Gifts Program

From 1 July 2019, institutions will need to lodge Cultural Gifts Program submissions online.

The Cultural Gifts Program is now using the online SmartyGrants portal to manage submissions.

SmartyGrants is a faster, easier way for institutions to submit donation documentation and will significantly reduce wait times for us to endorse the value of the gift. The online portal is already used by a lot of institutions to manage grant applications.

If you are a first time SmartyGrants user, you will need to create a username and password to lodge your submission. You will then be able to use this to upload and track all your organisation’s submissions from now on.

Hard copy submissions made before 1 July 2019 will still be processed but all submissions after this date must be made using the new system.

The Cultural Gifts Program offers tax incentives to encourage people to donate cultural items to public art galleries, museums, libraries and archives in Australia. Gifts can include paintings, books, sculptures, manuscripts, personal papers, jewellery, ceramics, technological or scientific collections.
