Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke officially opened the new Ravenswood Community Centre today on behalf of Regional Development Minister Don Punch.

The Cook Government invested $1.3 million into the facility, with a further $150,000 invested by project partners, Shire of Murray and Alcoa.

The community centre features a clubroom, kitchen, storerooms, meeting room and change rooms with showers and toilets.

The outdoor area consists of an alfresco, playground and play area. The centre design prioritises accessibility, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming space for all.

The Shire of Murray, in partnership with the Ravenswood Community Group, extensively consulted the community to develop a facility that meets local needs and engages the community.

A permanent structure will eventually replace the interim centre in line with future population increases. The Ravenswood Community Centre will be managed by the Shire of Murray.

As stated by Regional Development Minister Don Punch:

“In rapidly growing communities like Ravenswood, it’s essential to have modern spaces that cater to diverse needs. Our investment in the Ravenswood Community Centre showcases this commitment.

“This facility is not only functional, but also represents the collective effort and dedication of everyone involved. With this new centre, Ravenswood has a resource that will enrich its community for years to come.”

As stated by Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke:

“I am pleased to be able to officially open the new Ravenswood Community Centre today, which provides a welcoming and interactive hub for residents to be active, healthy, and stay connected with their community.

“Thank you to the Cook Labor Government for supporting Ravenswood with this $1.3 million election commitment, which helps build a strong and vibrant regional community.”
