Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has today announced ‘Yanchep Rise Primary School’ as the official name of the new $17 million school opening in Yanchep in 2021.
The official title came about following extensive consultation with the local community with the decision now allowing staff and students to move forward with designing uniforms, logo and school colours.
The state-of-the-art school will be Yanchep’s third primary school for the rapidly growing population and will accommodate up to 430 students from kindergarten to Year 6.
Once completed, the campus will include an early childhood teaching block and three general classroom blocks, including a specialised art and science room.
Students will also have a covered assembly area with a canteen and music room, a library resource centre, staff room, conference room and administration building and hard courts.
The school is on track to open its gates to students in 2021.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
“The name of Yanchep Rise Primary School is yet another exciting step towards the opening of this much needed local school.
“I know families will be proud to send their children to this wonderful new school which I’m confident to say will provide them with a high quality education in the state-of-the-art facilities.”
As stated by Butler MLA John Quigley:
“Our northern suburbs are developing at the rate of a street a week and it is vital that we provide the services people need.
“Yanchep Rise Primary School is a name befitting both the location of the school and the school’s ethos of challenging yourself and rising to the occasion.
“When Yanchep Rise opens for the 2021 school year, our youngsters are going to find themselves in an inspiring place, full of opportunities to learn and thrive.”
