New sports facilities for students at northern suburbs school

  • Major upgrade to sports hall at Ballajura Community College
  • Hoffman Architecture appointed
  • Construction set to start in early 2021 
  • Students at Ballajura Community College will soon be able to enjoy a new high-performance indoor sports venue.

    Hoffman Architecture has been selected to design the $400,000 refurbishment of the current sports hall which will include specialised flooring.

    Ballajura Community College opened in 1995 and currently has more than 1,200 students enrolled.

    With the project now in the planning stage, construction is expected to start in early 2021 with completion expected by the end of March.

    This investment is part of the McGowan Government’s $5.5 billion WA Recovery Plan to modernise Western Australian public schools. 

    As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

    “This new sports hall will provide students with a state-of-the-art space for them to enjoy for years to come.

    “Physical education and recreation is a vital part of school for every student and this modern facility will enhance their learning and skills.”

    As stated by West Swan MLA Rita Saffioti: 

    “A new sports hall will be another great addition complementing the other wonderful facilities Ballajura Community College offers for West Swan students.

    “I am excited to see this project happening for the Ballajura community, other local schools and community groups in the area will also benefit from this new facility.

    “We are investing a record amount in school maintenance upgrades in schools across Ballajura.”
