New vision for beloved Epping reserve

A welcoming space for locals to get active and enjoy the outdoors is being planned for Epping, as the City of Whittlesea invites residents to share their ideas for future improvements to Lowalde Recreation Reserve.

Community feedback will help shape Council’s upcoming master plan for the expansive reserve, which will bring to life significant short- and long-term improvements, including the opportunity for new sports and playground equipment, lighting upgrades, and inviting picnic and barbecue areas.

City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said that the master plan will provide a holistic vision for Lowalde Recreation Reserve, with a range of different features and activities designed to balance the needs of visitors of all ages and abilities.

“We’re planning real and meaningful improvements at Lowalde Recreation Reserve that reflect the current and future needs of the local community,” Ms Wilson said.

“I encourage residents to join the conversation and let us know what features or updates would support their social, health and wellbeing goals.”

Community drop-in sessions will be held at Lowalde Recreation Reserve, 31 Lowalde Drive, Epping on 24 May from 2pm-4pm and 26 May from 8am-10.30am to share your ideas in-person with Council staff.

To share your feedback online visit www.engage.whittlesea.vic.gov.au/lowalde. Submissions close 29 May 2022.

The implementation of the master plan actions is expected to start late-2023.
