Next steps for Glenorchy Ambulance Station

Jeremy Rockliff, Minister for Health

The construction of the new Glenorchy Ambulance Station is now a step closer to reality with a Request for Tender being released for the project.

The $10 million project is part of the Rockliff Liberal Government’s plan to further improve paramedic services across the State.

Upon completion, the new station will have the capacity to house and deploy up to 18 vehicles by 2035 which will support the growing paramedic workforce to service the region.

The station will include modern fit-for-purpose facilities including contemporary administration, operations, and staff amenities as well as better garaging of vehicles and parking spaces.

Premier and Minister for Health, Jeremy Rockliff said the Glenorchy Ambulance Station is just one of many station upgrades his government is investing in so that Tasmanians have access to the best healthcare they deserve.

“Our government has been increasing health funding in recognition of the increased demand for emergency ambulance responses,” Premier Rockliff said.

“We’ve employed more than 270 full-time equivalent employees at Ambulance Tasmania since 2014 and we’ll continue to invest in our ambulance services and infrastructure so that Tasmanians can get the right health care in the right place, at the right time.”

Construction of the Glenorchy Ambulance Station is proposed to start in mid-2023.
