NFF Election – Georgie Somerset stands for NFF President

National Farmers Federation President, Fiona Simson is stepping down at this month’s Annual General Meeting, following her maximum term possible leading the NFF.

AgForce President, Georgie Somerset, has offered herself as a candidate to lead the the NFF for the next three years. The AgForce board are supportive of Georgie’s nomination, and the outcome will be known at the NFF AGM on Wednesday 25 October.

If Georgie is successful (and we hope she is!), AgForce Deputy Chair Shane McCarthy will assume the role of Acting General President while the board convenes to go through the governance process required.

All the best for the campaign, Georgie – we think you’d do a great job as our national President, fulfilling the NFF vision of Leading Australian Agriculture!
