Leading law firm Maurice Blackburn Lawyers today said homophobia had no place in Australia after Newcastle Councillor Allan Robinson formally apologised for slurs directed at openly gay Deputy Lord Mayor Declan Clausen.
Mr Robinson directed a homophobic slur and a vile gesture towards Mr Clausen during a Council meeting on 21 May last year. He used the same slur during a meeting in July 2019, and then made other offensive public
