NRMA Insurance calls for nominations for the annual South Australia Help Awards

The 2023 nominations for the fourth South Australia Help Awards are now open with new presenting partner NRMA Insurance

NRMA Insurance is proud to announce its support of the South Australia Help Awards and is calling on locals to nominate an individual or organisation that has helped their community.

Now in its fourth year, the Help Awards is an annual event that was founded by Jodi Duyster who was inspired by the incredible acts of help displayed during the Black Summer Bushfires.

Ms Duyster said: “We created the Help Awards to recognise and celebrate the many people who have gone above and beyond to help others in their community. The stories are profound and there are so many selfless heroes.”

Known as Australia’s champions of help, NRMA Insurance is the perfect partner to join our passionate team to make these awards bigger and better than ever.

“Look around your local community, the groups you belong to, the businesses you visit, as well as friends, family and neighbours, and use the Help Awards as an opportunity to celebrate individuals who help make South Australia a safer and more connected community,” continued Ms Duyster.

The Help Awards recognises outstanding acts of help from individuals and groups across eight different categories, from community champions to wellness and education. Two new awards have been introduced in 2023, with the support of NRMA Insurance:

  • NRMA Insurance Emergency Services Award – NRMA Insurance is a partner of the South Australian State Emergency Service and would like to acknowledge emergency services and frontline workers with this award.
  • NRMA Insurance Community Sport Award – As proud helpers of Australian cricket, NRMA Insurance believes local sport brings people together and helps build stronger and more connected and resilient communities.

NRMA Insurance Chief Customer and Marketing Officer Michelle Klein said: “NRMA Insurance has been helping Australians protect the things they care about for almost 100 years, so we are delighted to support this awards program and its gala event celebrating everyday heroes who have helped their communities.

“We saw first-hand the power of help and the resilience of South Australians during the recent River Murray floods. We are proud to introduce the NRMA Insurance Emergency Services Award to recognise the extensive efforts of emergency services volunteers during the floods and the many other severe weather events that have impacted South Australians over the past year.”

All finalists will be celebrated during a blue carpet gala event at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday 15 November, with grants presented to category winners by NRMA Insurance to further their endeavours, alongside prizes from other sponsors including Australian Medical Placements, Fresh 92.7, Lexus of Adelaide, TTO and ADL Support Services.

If you know someone who has made a difference and deserves a nomination, head to thehelpawards.com.au and outline how they have helped your local community. Nominations close on Friday 6 October 2023.
