NSW latest Covid-19 update as at 16 April

NSW recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

Seven new cases were acquired overseas, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 5,174.

There were 10,415 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 10,548. 

There were 4,429 COVID-19 vaccines administered by NSW Health in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. The total number of vaccines administered by NSW Health is now 169,284.

NSW Health is treating 58 COVID-19 cases, most of whom (93 per cent) are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation. One person with COVID-19 is currently in ICU for a non‑COVID related medical condition.

NSW Health thanks those who have come forward for testing, and strongly urges everyone to isolate and be tested immediately if even the mildest of symptoms appear.
