NSW police appeal after attempted robbery at Auburn

Police are appealing for assistance from the public to identify two people after an attempted armed robbery in Sydney’s south west.

About 11pm yesterday (Wednesday 8 July 2020), the pair entered a grocery store on Cumberland Road, Auburn and threatened the owner with a shot gun.

After they demanded cash, the owner and two shoppers reportedly threw hot coffee at the pair causing them to flee empty handed.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended the store and commenced inquiries.

No one was injured in incident.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for information on two people they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

One of the offenders was wearing a fluorescent and blue hooded jumper, dark track pants, black gloves and a full-face balaclava.

The second person is described as being dressed in grey hooded jumper, black pants, white gloves, black shoes and was seen carrying a bag.

Inquiries continue.
