NSW police appeal after man stabbed

Police are appealing or information after a man was stabbed on the state’s central coast overnight.

About 10.30pm (Sunday 21 September 2020), a 36-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were in a gold Toyota Camry, parked at a petrol station on Scenic Drive, Budgewoi when a dark coloured Holden Astra pulled up nearby.

Police have been told four men got out of the Holden and approached the Toyota. After speaking with the male passenger, a verbal altercation broke out before he was stabbed.

The group then fled the scene in the Holden Astra.

The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transferred to John Hunter Hospital with a stab wound to the lower abdomen.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

Police are looking to speak to four men they believe may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

One of the men is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his 40s, of medium to solid build, 180cm-185cm tall with dark coloured hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper.

Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
