NSW police appeal after pedestrian hit by car at Parramatta

Police are appealing for public assistance after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Parramatta yesterday.

About 8.10pm (Monday 21 February 2022), emergency services were called to Victoria Road following reports a pedestrian had crossed the westbound lanes when he was hit by a white Mercedes E450.

The driver of the Mercedes – a 57-year-old man – went to the assistance of the pedestrian – a 74-year-old man – before emergency services attended and the pedestrian was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The pedestrian was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the Mercedes underwent a roadside breath test which returned a negative result.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who may have dashcam footage, to come forward and contact Parramatta Police or Crime Stoppers.
