NSW police appeal after teen critically injured in crash

Police are appealing for public assistance after a teenager was left critically injured following a single-vehicle crash on the Central Coast overnight.

Just before 2.30am (Saturday 18 January 2020), emergency services were called to Sparks Road, Halloran, after reports a motorist had located a vehicle in bushland.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and found a Nissan X-trail that had hit a tree about 50m from the roadway.

The driver and sole occupant, a 17-year-old male, was found seriously injured. He was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established and will be forensically examined.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are appealing for any witnesses or any motorists who were in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage to contact Tuggerah Lakes Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
