NSW police appeal for information after house, car destroyed by fire at Gunnedah

Police are appealing for information after a car and home were destroyed by a suspicious fire in the state’s northeast this morning.

About 3am today (Wednesday 27 November 2019), emergency services responded to reports of a fire on Conadilly Street at Gunnedah.

On arrival, officers attached to Oxley Police District found the detached single-story residence and a vehicle well alight.

Residents of the home, neighbours and a nearby motel were evacuated as Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze.

About 9.30am, police received information that two burnt-out Molotov cocktails had been located at an address on Elgin Street. No damage had been caused.

Officers established a crime scene at both locations and conducted a canvass of the area.

Detectives from Oxley Police District are appealing for community members to provide CCTV or dashcam footage from the areas around the time of the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
