NSW police appeal for information after kidnapping at Ryde

Police are appealing for public assistance following a kidnapping incident in Sydney’s northern suburbs last weekend, after an injured man was located in East Hills yesterday.

About 12.40pm on Saturday 24 October 2020, police attended a unit block on Morrison Road, Ryde, following a report that a man had been violently abducted from the underground carpark.

A crime scene was established by officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command and following initial inquiries the matter was referred to the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, who established Strike Force Nicotiana to investigate the matter.

Yesterday (Tuesday 27 October 2020), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command responded to reports a man with minor injuries had been found near the intersection of Henry Lawson Drive and Maclaurin Avenue, East Hills.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated the 21-year-old for his injuries, before taking him to Bankstown Hospital for treatment.

Strike force detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are seeking any information in relation to suspicious activity witnessed near Morrison Road, Ryde around midday last Saturday.
