NSW police are responding to fatal crash near Wollongong

Police are investigating following a fatal crash near Wollongong today.

About 4.10pm (Sunday 27 February 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of Picton Road and Keira Road, Cataract, following reports of a three-vehicle crash.

The driver of one of the vehicles – a Hyundai hatchback – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

The drivers and passengers of the two other vehicles – a Range Rover and a Nissan Navara – were uninjured.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended and have established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing to anyone with information or who has dashcam footage to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.

All eastbound lanes on Picton Road are currently closed and motorists are urged to avoid the area. Check www.livetraffic.com for updates.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
