NSW police arrest man after pursuit and crash

A man has been arrested after a pursuit in Sydney’s west.

About 1.15pm today (Wednesday 24 November 2021), officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command attempted to stop a stolen Holden Captiva, on Badgally Road, Claymore.

The Holden failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated before being terminated due to safety concerns.

Shortly after, the Holden collided head-on with a Nissan Pathfinder on Gregory Hills Road, Gregory Hills.

Emergency services responded and police arrested the Holden driver, a 20-year-old man.

Both he and the Nissan driver, a woman aged in her 40s, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The man was taken to Liverpool Hospital, under police guard, and the woman to Campbelltown Hospital. Both are in a stable condition.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
