NSW police arrest man after stabbing

A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing another man at Wiley Park overnight.

About 7.30pm (Tuesday 11 May 2021), a 30-year-old man attended Canterbury Hospital suffering a stab wound to his abdomen.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

A short time later officers attended Kathleen Street, Wiley Park and established a crime scene which was forensically examined.

Following inquiries police attended a house in Melrose Avenue and arrested a 20-year-old man.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station and is currently assisting with inquiries.

Police have been told the men are known to each other.

The injured man has been transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
