NSW police arrest man over fatal Pyrmont stabbing

A man has been arrested after another man died following a stabbing in Sydney yesterday.

About 8am (Thursday 16 July 2020), emergency services were called to the apartment complex on Bunn Street, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and found a 44-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds. He died at the scene.

Police have been told that the man, a building employee, had been involved in an altercation with a man known to him prior to being stabbed.

A crime scene has been established which is continuing to be examined by specialist forensic police.

Detectives have established Strike Force Azoic to investigate the man’s death.

Following inquires, a 41-year-old man was arrested just after 7pm on Macquarie Street near Smith Street, Parramatta, before being taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard for observation.
