NSW police charge man after aggravated break and enter

A man will face court today after the alleged aggravated break and enter of a home in the state’s north-west.

About 4.30am yesterday (Monday 12 August 2019), the female occupant of a home on Oxley Street at Bourke allegedly woke to find a man armed with a knife in her bedroom.

It is alleged the man threatened the woman and demanded her bank cards, keys and phone.

The man and two co-offenders left the home, taking the woman’s vehicle, phone, bank card and iPads.

Officers attached to Central North Police District were notified of the incident and executed a search warrant at an Alice Edwards Village home in Bourke.

Subsequently, police from the Orana Mid Western Police District attended a train station in Dubbo and located the man in possession of the woman’s property.

He was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter.

The man was bail refused to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Tuesday 13 August 2019).
