The CommBank ParaMatildas defeat Finland 10-0 to advance to the final of the IFCPF Women’s World Cup 2026

The CommBank ParaMatildas have defeated Finland 10-0 in the semi-final to advance to the final of the IFCPF Women’s World Cup 2026.

Carly Salmon and Annmarie De Uriarte scored four apiece, while Tamsin Colley and Eloise Northam were also on the scoresheet.

There was one change to the side that defeated the Netherlands in the final group stage game. Eloise Northam started, wearing the captain’s armband, while Leah Spaine started from the bench.

Carly Salmon – back on the field, with Katelyn Smith moving into goal – got goalscoring underway early. She tucked home a finish from close range to start the game in a positive manner.

She scored the second in the 12th minute, off the back of a wonderful through ball from Eloise Northam. Her hat-trick was completed only four minutes later, this time played in by Annmarie De Uriarte after a wall pass inside the penalty area.

De Uriarte got herself on the scoresheet to continue her phenomenal goalscoring form, unleashing with her left foot on the edge of the penalty area.

The fifth was a lovely team goal. De Uriarte fired it into Salmon, who was waiting inside the area. She played it back to a hovering Eloise Northam, who made no mistake from distance, completing a dynamic passing move.

It was six before the break. De Uriarte pounced on a turnover of possession close to goal, scoring her second in first-half stoppage time.

Salmon scored her fourth, and the team’s seventh, in the 34th minute. She showed great individual strength to push past Finland’s defenders to poke it home past the goalkeeper.

De Uriarte completed her third hat-trick of the tournament in the 42nd minute. She showed off her skills on the ball, dribbling around the defence and finishing with her strong left foot on a tight angle.

Tamsin Colley got in on the action to score the team’s ninth. She capitalised on a good ball into the box and made no mistake from close range, adding her name to the scoresheet.

Australia weren’t done, however. De Uriarte made sure that the team would go into the final after scoring double figures, once again dribbling past her defender and firing it into the back of the net from the edge of the penalty area.

They will now meet the hosts, the United States, in the final in a rematch of the past two tournament deciders.
