NSW police charge man after double stabbing at Parramatta

A man has been charged with murder after a double stabbing in Sydney’s west.

About 10.45pm (Friday 18 December 2020), emergency services were called to an apartment complex on Church Street, Parramatta, following reports of a stabbing.

Two girls – both aged 17 – were found suffering stab wounds.

They were taken to Westmead Hospital where one the youths died. She is yet to be formally identified.

The other remains in a stable condition.

Officers attached to the Parramatta Police Area Command, assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Benbullen to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, a 19-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta Police Station.

The man has been charged with murder, and wound person intend to cause grievous bodily harm (DV).

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Sunday 20 December 2020).

Inquiries are continuing.
