A man will face court today charged for his alleged role in an armed robbery in Sydney’s west earlier this year.
About 10pm on Sunday 23 February 2020, officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command responded to reports of an armed robbery at a service station on Kildare Road, Blacktown.
It is alleged that three men entered the store threatened staff, one armed with a machete and one armed with a rifle, before fleeing the location with cash and cigarettes.
The matter was referred to the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad who commenced an investigation under Strike Force Bines.
In March, as part of ongoing investigations, detectives arrested and charged a 24-year-old man for his alleged role in the robbery. He remains before the court.
Following further inquiries, an arrest warrant was obtained from Parramatta Local Court for a 38-year-old man wanted for robbery armed with a dangerous weapon.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command identified the man at a licenced premises at Queen Street, St Marys about 11pm on Friday 13 October 2020.
He was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
He was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday 18 November 2020).
