NSW police charge man after public place shooting at Nowra

A man has been charged following a public place shooting on the state’s south coast.

About 8.30pm on Sunday 21 July 2019, police stopped a white Ford Territory in Elizabeth Street Nowra.

The passenger fled on foot and a pursuit was initiated by police. With the assistance of the dog unit, police located the man hiding under a house on Elizabeth Street, Nowra.

The man was searched and found to be in possession of three shotgun rounds.

Following inquiries by detectives attached to South Coast Police District, the man was linked to an altercation outside a unit on Douglas Street on Sunday 21 July 2019, where a number of shots were allegedly fired.

A 33-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Wednesday 11 September 2019) in connection to the shots fired.

The man was charged with fire firearm in a public place and possess shortened firearm.

He has been refused bail and is due to face Nowra Local Court on Monday 16 September 2019.
