NSW police charge man after stabbing in Sydney’s north

A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing on Sydney’s North Shore today.

About 2.40am today (Wednesday 6 April 2022), emergency services were called to Edwards Road, Wahroonga, following reports of an assault.

On arrival, officers attached to Kuring Gai Police Area Command located a 35-year-old man with stab wounds to his back.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital. He has since been released.

Following inquiries, an 18-year-old man was arrested outside a shopping centre on Albert Street, Hornsby about 12.40pm.

He was taken to Hornsby Police Station where he was charged with malicious wounding with intent and three counts of shoplifting.

He was refused bail and will appear at Hornsby Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 7 April 2022).
