In November 2020, officers from the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad established Strike Force Poile to investigate the supply of gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL) in Sydney’s south-west.

On Monday 9 November 2020, investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Mimosa Rd, Bossley Park, where over 7.5 litres of gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL) was seized.

Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force investigators attended a tattoo parlour on George Street, Liverpool, about 3:30pm yesterday (Thursday 25 February 2021), and arrested a 23-year-old man. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station.

As part of inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Aberdeen Street, Bossley Park, about 10pm last night, seizing electronic devices 165g of cocaine, 19g of methamphetamine, 38g of cannabis, 26g of MDMA powder, steroids, prescription medication, a home-made electronic stun device, two ballistic vests and items consistent with the manufacture of illicit drugs.

In a neighbouring backyard, officers located a backpack containing two firearms, and ammunition. These items were also seized and will be forensically examined.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity and supply prohibited drug – small quantity.

He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 26 February 2021).
