NSW police charge man over sexual incident on train at Miranda

A man will face court later this month following an alleged sexual incident on a train in Sydney’s south last month.

About 6.30am on Friday 26 June 2020, a 25-year-old woman was seated on a train near Wolli Creek Railway Station when she saw a man in the same carriage allegedly committing a sexual act.

The woman reported the matter to police and officers from Cronulla Police Transport Command commenced an investigation into the incident.

About 4.40pm this afternoon (Thursday 2 July 2020), police spoke with a 42-year-old man at Miranda Railway Station. He was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station.

He was charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent and behaving in an offensive manner.

He was granted strict conditional bail and will appear before Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 30 July 2020.
