NSW police charge man over sexual touching

A man will face court today charged following a number of alleged sexual incidents on trains in Sydney’s south-west last month.

About 7.30pm on Friday 8 May 2020, a 24-year-old woman caught a train to Wiley Park Railway Station. As she walked along King Georges Road, a man allegedly sexually touched her.

The woman reported the matter to police and officers from Campsie Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following numerous inquiries, investigators identified a second incident which occurred on the same train as the one caught by the 24-year-old woman.

It will be alleged in Court that a man exposed himself towards two women in the carriage of the train.

About 3pm on Monday 1 June 2020, a 12-year-old girl caught a train to Campsie Railway Station. As she walked along The Boulevarde, a man allegedly sexually touched the girl.

She reported the matter to police.

Following a public appeal for information, police arrested a 27-year-old man at Wiley Park and he was taken to Campsie Police Station just before 2pm yesterday (Thursday 4 June).

The man has been charged with two counts of sexually touch another person without consent and carry out sexual act with another without consent. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 5 June 2020).
