NSW police charge man with child sex offences

A man has been charged with child sex offences after allegedly procuring teenagers at a shopping centre in Mona Vale yesterday.

About 2.15pm (Saturday 23 May 2020), officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command were called to a shopping centre on Park Street, Mona Vale, after reports of a child approach.

Following inquiries, a 60-year-old man was arrested inside the centre about 3.30pm and taken to Manly Police Station.

The man was charged with two counts of intentional incite child between 10 and 16 to do sexual act, procure child under 14 years for unlawful sexual activity, procure child for unlawful sexual activity, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm and behave in offensive manner in/near/public place.

Police will allege in court that the man approached two teenage boys – aged 13 and 14 – and offered them money to conduct sexual acts.

The man then allegedly approached a 16-year-old girl and detailed sexually explicit acts he wished to perform on her and the teenage boys.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court via AVL today (Sunday 24 May 2020).
