NSW police charge man with commercial drug supply at St George

Police have charged a man after allegedly locating a commercial quantity of GBL in a vehicle at Bexley today.

About 10.20am (Thursday 28 May 2020), Central Metropolitan Highway Patrol; officers stopped a black Toyota Rukus on Stoney Creek Road, Bexley, near Medway Street.

Officers spoke with the 27-year-old male driver who allegedly appeared under the influence of a drug.

Officers searched the vehicle and located multiple containers believed to contain the prohibited drug known as GBL. The total amount being 13 litres which is in excess of the large commercial quantity.

The man was arrested before being taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with five counts of possess prohibited drug and one count of supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity.

He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court tomorrow (Friday 29 May 2020).

Meanwhile, a search warrant was executed by officers from St George Police Area Command on a home on Patrick Street, Hurstville.

Officers seized a number of items including steroids, and containers with clear liquids believed to be prohibited drugs, and ledgers. These items will be forensically examined.
