NSW police charge man with common assault at Auburn

A man has been charged with common assault following an incident in a park in Auburn yesterday.

About 2.45pm (Saturday 29 June 2019), an 18-year-old male approached two children in Mona Park, Auburn.

He allegedly held the hand of a three-year-old child for a short period of time and then picked up a two-year-old child from a see-saw before placing her back down on the see-saw when confronted by parents in the park.

The man then left the park.

Police were notified and attended Mona Park to speak with the mother of the children and other witnesses.

About 6pm on Saturday (29 June 2019), police arrested the 18-year-old a short distance away and conveyed him to Auburn Police Station.

The man was charged with two counts of common assault.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 4 July 2019.
