NSW police charge man with drug supply at Wollongong

A man will face court today charged after allegedly being found in possession of prohibited drugs in Wollongong yesterday.

About 10.20am (Thursday 24 September 2020), officers from the South East Region Enforcement Squad were patrolling Crown Street, Wollongong, when they stopped to speak with a 25-year-old man.

Following a search of the man, police allegedly seized MDMA, cannabis, two knives, cash and prescription medication.

About 6.30pm, a search warrant was executed at a home at Woonona, where officers seized MDMA tablets, an electronic stun device and cannabis.

The man was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug (x2), possess prohibited drug (x2), possess prescribed restricted substance (x2), custody of knife in public place (x2) and deal with property proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 25 September 2020).
