NSW police charge man with drug supply

A man will face court tomorrow charged after drugs were seized during a vehicle stop in Surry Hills.

Just before 4pm today (Friday 31 July 2020), officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command were patrolling the Surry Hills area when they observed a Toyota Aurion parked in a ‘No Stopping’ zone at the intersection of Arthur and Crown Streets.

The vehicle was seen to pick up a passenger, before dropping him off a short distance away.

Police stopped the passenger, a 38-year-old man, and during a search allegedly located two small resealable bags of cocaine.

The man was issued a court attendance notice for possess prohibited drug. He will face court at a later date.

The Toyota was stopped shortly after and during a search of the driver, a 23-year-old man, officers allegedly located 65 small resealable bags containing cocaine, weighing 47.2g. The drugs were seized along with cash, and mobile phones.

He was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police station.

The man was charged with supply prohibited drug – indictable, supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 1 August 2020).
