NSW police charge man with possession of firearm, knife in public place at Orange

A man has been charged after he was allegedly found in possession of a firearm and knife in the state’s Central West.

About 8.45pm yesterday (Sunday 13 September 2020), officers attached to Central West Police District responded to reports of a man walking along Glenroi Avenue, Orange, with a firearm.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man and during a search, they seized a knife and military style replica assault rifle.

He was taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with possession of unregistered firearm in public place, and custody of knife in public place.

He was bail refused to appear before Orange Local Court today (Monday 14 September 2020).
