NSW police charge six over Liverpool car park brawl

Six teens have been arrested and charged following a fight on a rooftop carpark of a shopping centre at Liverpool overnight.

Police were called to the centre on Macquarie Street about 8.30pm (Thursday 9 January 2020), after reports of a brawl involving up to 50 people.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command moved to disperse the crowd; however, OC spray had to be deployed when individuals allegedly threatened police.

Six youths were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station where they were charged,

• A 13-year-old boy, from Ashcroft, has been charged with assault police, and fail to comply with direction.

• A 16-year-old youth, from Busby, has been charged with affray, threaten violence/cause fear, and fail to comply with direction.

• A 16-year-old youth, from Heckenberg, has been charged with assault police, and resist/hinder police. and fail to comply with direction.

• A 17-year-old youth, from Heckenberg, has been charged with affray, threaten violence/cause fear, fail to comply with direction, and resist police.

• A 17-year-old youth, from Ashcroft, has been charged with affray, and threaten violence/cause fear.

They have all been granted conditional bail to appear in a children’s court on Monday 3 February 2020.

An 18-year-old man, from Ashcroft, has been charged with affray, threaten violence/cause fear, and fail to comply with direction.

He’s been granted conditional bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Thursday 6 February 2020.
