NSW police charge three with drink driving during traffic operation at Nowra

Police in Nowra have conducted a traffic operation over the weekend, charging three people with drink driving and issuing five infringement notices.

The operation spanned both Friday and Saturday nights, and targeted traffic offences in and around Nowra.

During the operation, police charged three people with drink driving.

A 26-year-old man was stopped for a breath test on Comerong Road, returning a positive reading. He was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station and following a breath analysis he was charged with low range PCA and had his licence suspended. He is expected to appear at Nowra Local Court on a day yet to be set.

A 51-year-old man was stopped by police and breath tested where, returning a positive reading. The male was arrested and taken to the police station where he returned a low range reading. His licence was suspended, and he was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Nowra Local Court on Monday 18 November 2019. It was the man’s second offence this week.

A 32-year-old man was involved in a traffic incident when stopped by police. The male was breath tested and returned a positive reading. The male was taken to the police station and subjected to a breath analysis, where he returned a mid-range reading and his licence was suspended, and he was issued with a court attendance notice to appear at Nowra Local Court on Monday 30 September 2019.

Officers also issued five infringement notices, for various traffic offences, including speeding and vehicle not comply with emission standards.

Further operations can be expected.
