NSW police charge two after cocaine, cash, knife seized during vehicle stop

Two men will appear in court today charged after cocaine, cash and weapons were seized following a vehicle stop in Sydney’s east yesterday.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were conducting proactive patrols when they stopped a Volkswagen Golf on New South Head Road, Rose Bay, about 8pm (Saturday 4 July 2020).

Police spoke to the driver, a 22-year-old man, and his passenger, a 26-year-old man, before searching the vehicle.

During the search, police allegedly found cocaine, more than $8200 cash, a baton and a knife.

Both men were arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station.

The younger man was charged with supply prohibited drug (between small and indictable quantity), possess prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime (x2), custody of knife in public place, and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.

The older man was charged with supply prohibited drug (between small and indictable quantity), possess prohibited drug, and deal with property proceeds of crime.

The pair were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 5 July 2020).
