NSW police charge two men after graffiti offences at Campbelltown

Two men have been charged following multiple, alleged graffiti related offences in the Campbelltown area.

About 8.35pm yesterday (Thursday 23 June 2022), police attended Leppington Train Station following reports of two males applying spray paint to train carriages.

Officers attached to Police Transport and Public Safety Command attended the location and observed two males allegedly spray painting carriages in a holding yard.

Two men, aged 29 and 35, were arrested by police as they exited the train station and taken to Narellan Police Station.

Upon searching the men, police located and seized spray cans, balaclavas, cameras, phones, SD cards, sketches, and clothing.

The estimated value of the damage to the train is $2,500.

The younger man was charged with:

  • Face blackened/disguised, commit indictable offence x2
  • Armed w/intent, commit indictable offence x 2
  • Malicious damage in company x 2
  • Enter running lines x 2
  • Trespass x 2
  • Enter/leave station not at designated entry/exit point x 2

Police will allege the younger man was involved in an additional graffiti related offence committed at Campbelltown Train Station on Tuesday 21 June 2022.

The older man was charged with:

  • Face blackened/disguised, commit indictable offence
  • Armed with intent, commit serious indictable offence
  • Malicious damage in company
  • Enter running lines
  • Trespass
  • Enter/leave station not at designated entry/exit point

Both men have been granted bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 13 July 2022.
