NSW police charge two with attempted murder at Blackheath

Two men have been charged with attempted murder after a shooting at a home in Blackheath yesterday.

About 4.30am (Friday 13 December 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Connaught Road following reports of possible shots fired.

Officers from Blue Mountains Police Area Command attended and found two men, aged 25 and 31, suffering gunshot wounds.

The younger man was treated for a wound to his lower back and the older man for a wound to his torso.

Both men have been taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Police commenced investigations and about 6pm yesterday, a 21-year-old man was arrested during a vehicle stop in Rowan Lane, Katoomba. During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located a shotgun.

He was taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was charged with shoot with intent to murder (x2), wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (x2) and possess unregistered firearm.

He was bail refused to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 14 December 2019).

About 8.30pm yesterday, police arrested a 23-year-old in South Street, Katoomba.

He was taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was charged with shoot with intent to murder (x2), wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (x2) and possess unregistered firearm.

He was bail refused to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 14 December 2019).
