NSW police charge woman after cocaine deal

Police have charged a woman after she was allegedly caught supplying cocaine in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs overnight.

About 11.25pm yesterday (Friday 21 February 2020), officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Proactive Crime Team were patrolling Double Bay when they observed a man enter a Silver Hyundai Tucson at the intersection of Court Road and Anderson Street.

The vehicle drove for a short distance before the man exited the vehicle on Kiaora Road.

Officers stopped the man and he was allegedly found to have two bags of cocaine in his possession.

The 26-year-old, from Leichhardt, was issued a Field Court Attendance notice to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 19 March 2020.

Police continued to follow the Hyundai before they stopped the vehicle on Bay Street and spoke with the female driver.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers allegedly found cash, 16 bags of cocaine and a phone allegedly hidden in a concealed compartment.

The 27-year-old driver, from Monterey, was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station.

She was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and deal with proceeds of crime.

She was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Tuesday 3 March 2020.
