NSW police charge woman over break-in and stolen goods at Broken Hill

A woman will appear in court today after she allegedly broke into a home in the state’s west.

About 6.20am yesterday (Saturday 5 September 2020), officers were called to a house on Silver City Highway, Broken Hill, following reports a woman was allegedly breaking into the home.

The woman, aged 36, allegedly left the scene in a car but was stopped by police a short distance away.

Officers from Barrier Police District searched the vehicle and found items allegedly stolen from the property earlier in the week (Thursday 3 September 2020), including a knife and fishing equipment.

The woman was arrested and taken to Broken Hill Police Station, where she was charged with aggravated break and enter, and goods in personal custody suspected to being stolen.

She was refused bail and is due to appear in Dubbo Local Court today (Sunday 6 September 2020).
