NSW police investigate armed robbery at Wagga Wagga

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Wagga Wagga earlier today.

About 4am today (Wednesday 4 December 2019) two men attended a service station in a silver BMW on Hammond Avenue, Wagga Wagga.

One of the men allegedly left the vehicle and pointed a firearm at the service station attendant, demanding cash and cigarettes.

The attendant complied, and the man allegedly left the building before returning and demanding the attendant’s wallet, phone and keys.

The attendant once again complied, and the second man allegedly drove away in the attendant’s vehicle; a blue dual cab Mazda utility.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

The silver BMW was located shortly after, burnt out near the Eunony Bridge, off the Sturt Highway.

The Mazda utility was located in Buna Street, Ashmont.

Both vehicles have been seized by police for forensic examination.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact Wagga Wagga police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The first man is described as wearing a green hooded jumper, black pants, grey joggers with black adidas stripes, black baseball cap, white face covering and wearing hand coverings.

The second man is described as wearing a dark hooded jumper and gloves.
