NSW police investigate suspicious fire

Police are appealing for information after a fire was deliberately lit at a store in Sydney’s west.

About 4.10am (Saturday 14 November 2020), emergency services were called to a store on Queen Street, St Marys, following reports of a fire.

Police arrived to find a rear roller door removed from its hinges and a fire well alight on the lower floor of the shop.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze while officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

No one was inside the building and there haven’t been reports of injury.

Initial inquiries suggest the fire was deliberately lit.
