NSW police investigating after child approach at Gunnedah

Investigations are underway after two children were allegedly approached by an unknown man in the state’s north-east.

Shortly after 3.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 4 December 2019), two young boys were walking home along George Street at Gunnedah when they were approached by an unknown man.

It is alleged the man invited the boys back to his house, to which they declined and returned home.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District were notified and commenced inquiries.

The man was described as being Caucasian in appearance, 50 to 60 years old, of a thin build, approximately 180-185cm tall, with a bald head and missing top front teeth. He was last seen wearing a light coloured t-shirt, dark coloured shorts and had a large black dog.

Police appeal for anyone with information about this matter, including CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident, to contact Gunnedah Police Station on 6742 9099.

Investigations continue.
