NSW police investigating after home invasion at Armidale

An investigation in underway following a home invasion in the state’s northern tablelands overnight.

About 1.15am (Thursday 21 April 2022), two men – one armed with a machete – forced entry to a home on Allingham Street, Armidale and threatened the occupant, a 30-year-old woman, demanding cash.

A 15-year-old boy asleep at the time, woke to the noise and handed over money before the pair fled on foot.

The occupants were not physically injured.

Officers attached to New England Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

As detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, they urge anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV from the area to come forward.
