NSW police investigating after home invasion at Parramatta

Police are investigating after a woman was assaulted during a home invasion at Parramatta earlier today.

About 9am (Saturday April 8), officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command were called to a home on Bourke Street, North Parramatta, to reports of a disturbance.

Police were told two women, one of whom was armed with a hammer, entered the premises and assaulted a resident, a 47-year-old woman, before stealing laptops, mobile phones and a wallet then fleeing.

The woman suffered lacerations to her face and eyes and was attended to at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics but declined further hospital treatment.

A second male resident who was home at the time was uninjured.

A crime scene was established and police commenced inquiries into the incident.

As they continue, detectives would like to speak to two women who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The first is described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, has dark hair, aged in her 20s, and was wearing a white jumper and green, white and pink coloured tights at the time.

The second is also described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, and was wearing a blue polo shirt and black tights.
